Mark Newman Graduated From the National College of Art & Design, Dublin in 2015 with an Honours Degree in Craft Design. His Graduate collection ‘Harbouring Memory’ - a series of statement brooches inspired by his upbringing by the sea, memory loss and the yearning to connect with a forgotten past. he exhibited these pieces extensively throughout Europe before.
in 2016 Newman took up a position as Artist in Residence at Glasgow School of Art where he taught students enamelling techniques while producing a new body of work - ‘Attrition’. These pieces explored themes of personal turmoil and distress.
Newman went on to study with the Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s Centre of Excellence in Goldsmithing from 2017 - 2019. here he honed his skills and produced his award winning body of work - ‘Macrocosm’
